Next-Gen Orthotics in Albury, Wodonga & Wagga Wagga

Next-Gen Orthotics are a modern evolution of traditional orthotics, combining 3D scanning, CAD design, and advanced 3D printing to create highly personalised devices. Unlike traditional methods, these orthotics are engineered with precision to match your exact foot structure and movement patterns.

At The Foot Clinics, we design and manufacture Next-Gen Orthotics across Albury, Wodonga and Wagga Wagga, helping patients reduce pain, improve performance, and move with confidence.

NEXT-GEN ORTHOTICS

What are Next-Gen Orthotics?

Next-Gen Orthotics are custom-designed devices created using detailed 3D scans of your feet and advanced digital modelling. They are built with variable density materials, allowing different areas of the orthotic to provide targeted support, cushioning, or control where needed.

This level of precision allows for a more natural feel underfoot while still correcting alignment and reducing stress on key structures.

NEXT-GEN ORTHOTICS

How Do Next-Gen Orthotics Work?

The process begins with a high-accuracy 3D scan of your feet, capturing every contour and pressure point. Your podiatrist then designs the orthotic using CAD software, tailoring stiffness, flexibility, and support zones to your specific needs.

The orthotics are then produced using advanced 3D printing technology, allowing multiple support zones within a single device. Once fitted, they work by redistributing pressure, improving alignment, and reducing strain on muscles, tendons, and joints.

The Process

01

3D Scan

A detailed digital scan of your feet captures every contour and pressure point with 0.3 mm accuracy, providing a perfect foundation for your custom device.
02

CAD Design by Your Podiatrist

Using professional CAD software, your podiatrist designs the orthotic with precise control over shape, flexibility, and material zones. Softer regions are placed under high-pressure points; firmer areas add control where alignment needs correction.
03

In-House 3D Printing

Once finalised, the design is printed in-clinic using thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). The material’s unique multi-density structure allows us to embed zones of softness and rigidity within the same device — delivering support that feels natural and responsive. Most Next-Gen orthotics are printed on site and ready within days.
04

Finishing & Fitting

Each pair is hand-finished and top-covered before your fitting appointment. Your podiatrist checks comfort and alignment, makes any refinements, and ensures your orthotics fit seamlessly within your footwear. Follow-up reviews or minor adjustments are included within three months.

QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Next-Gen Orthotics different from traditional orthotics?

Next-Gen Orthotics use advanced 3D scanning and CAD design to create a highly precise and personalised device. Unlike traditional orthotics, which are often made using casts or foam impressions, these are digitally designed and 3D printed. This allows for variable support zones, improved comfort, and a more accurate fit tailored to your movement.

How long does it take to get Next-Gen Orthotics?

Most Next-Gen Orthotics are designed and manufactured within a few days, as they are produced in-house using advanced 3D printing technology. This is significantly faster than traditional orthotics, which can take several weeks.

Are Next-Gen Orthotics comfortable to wear?

Yes, they are designed to feel natural underfoot while still providing the support you need. Because they are customised to your foot shape and movement, most patients adapt quickly and notice improved comfort during daily activity.

What conditions can Next-Gen Orthotics help with?

They are commonly used to treat conditions such as plantar fasciitis, heel pain, Achilles pain, shin splints, and forefoot pain. They can also help improve overall movement and reduce injury risk.

Do I need to wear orthotics all the time?

This depends on your condition and treatment plan. Your podiatrist will guide you on when and how often to wear them to get the best results while supporting long-term recovery.
